For over 6 years, Empress Restaurant has been redefining the experience of authentic Nigerian cuisine in the heart of Birmingham. Rooted in heritage and inspired by community, we blend traditional flavours with modern sophistication to create a dining experience that is as memorable as it is meaningful.
A Legacy of Taste & Tradition
Founded in 2018, Empress Restaurant began as a passionate family venture with one purpose to share the true taste of Nigeria with the world. What started as a humble dream has blossomed into a culinary landmark that celebrates the richness, warmth, and diversity of Nigerian culture through food.
Led by our visionary founder and head chef, Oyetola Akande, our kitchen brings together time-honoured recipes and contemporary techniques to craft dishes that tell a story. A story of heritage, artistry, and love for the craft of cooking.
